Worship
When You Come to Worship:
At Hamilton Presbyterian Church, our hope is for you to experience community -- the community that will lift you up, heal your spirit, and foster a sense of joy. Our worship is typically “mainline” – not so formal as to be “stuffy” but with a sense of genuine character.
Our Usual Sunday Morning Schedule:
- Sunday School 9:30 am
Classic Worship 11:00 am First, Third, and Fourth Sundays (and Fifth)
Contemporary Worship 11:00 am Second Sunday - We base our worship on the liturgical practices of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Our service typically includes congregational singing, special music, readings from the Bible’s Old and New Testaments, prayers of confession and prayers of the people, and a sermon based on the biblical texts for the day.
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper:
This is one of two sacraments, Baptism being the other. This sacrament is the church’s continuing celebration of God’s love for us. At Hamilton, we celebrate the sacrament eight times through the year, both on Sundays and special days like Ash Wednesday and the Thursday of Holy Week, known as Maundy Thursday.
